Your Recipes Needed for Outreach Cookboo...

Calling All Cooks! Old St. Joseph’s Outreach needs your recipes for a cookbook. We already have over 125 recipes from some of your kitchens – thanks! However, we still need more. So dig out that favorite recipe that your neighbor Gary gave you for his mom’s goulash or Aunt Vera’s apple brown Betty and send it to kjaeger@oldstjoseph.org or Kris Jaeger, 321 Willings Alley, Phila., PA, 19106 All contributions will be greatly appreciated. All proceeds will benefit the OSJ Outreach Program.

Pope John Paul II provided witness to Christ’s directive when he visited the man who shot and critically wounded him...

Thank you from Rowan Homes from the Chri...

A heartfelt thank-you from Vera Owens, Program Manager at Rowan Homes, goes to all of you for remembering the Rowan children again this Christmas with your gifts. Vera said these gifts are really special and the children as well as their mothers appreciate them very much. The children do not have many books of their own to keep and all of the presents are welcomed. May God reward you for your generosity, most especially in this most difficult economic climate that affects so many of us. God bless!

Congrats and Thanks for the “Giving Tree”: On behalf of the students at Gesu School and the children associated with Rowan Homes, a most heartfelt congratulations and thanks to parishioner Chuck Capaldi and to all who helped him to organize and carry out our annual “Giving Tree” project. OSJ delivered 226 beautifully wrapped gifts to the Gesu School alone — 157 books and 69 sets of hats and gloves! The biggest thanks, of course, goes to you, the parishioners, who took tags from the tree at the back of the church and provided these much...
