People of all ages are encouraged to attend this program which will provide a clear understanding of the preparation needed prior to either a diagnosis of a terminal illness, tragic accident or passage to eternal life from natural causes. If you are a caregiver for your parents, this panel will also help you in discussing these topics with your parents. What are Ordinary and Extraordinary Means to Preserve Life? What is the role of hospice? What is DNI, DNR and do I need them? What are the ethical considerations?
Panelists will include Father Peter Clark from Saint Joseph’s University who will speak on the Ethics aspects of end of life decision making. Sister Patricia Talone, Vice President from Mission Catholic Health Association whose presentation will focus on caring for the sick; discussing end-of-life issues; and making end-of-life decisions. And Marilyn Angelotti-Kelly who will speaking about Hospice’s role in illness. There will be ample time for questions and answers.
