Mission and Activities

The Adult Education Committee is part of the Adult Faith Formation Ministry of the Parish. Our mission, in cooperation with the Parish Pastoral Council and the other standing committees of the Parish, is:

To support all adult members of the parish community in their faith formation, by providing them with a variety of opportunities to better understand their faith within the Church and to live it authentically.

In supporting adult faith formation, we contribute to the “lively intellectual life” that our Parish Pastoral Plan encourages all of us to foster.

Our programs include nationally recognized leaders in the Roman Catholic Church, accomplished authors, scholars, artists and teachers, who present to the parish community on topics of relevance to the Faith. We also facilitate parishioners in forming groups with similar needs for prayer, support and study, as well as book study groups for learning particular areas of interest. We participate with the Archdiocesan programs for Adult Faith Formation and constantly strive to learn new approaches to assisting our community in its journey of faith.

Every year, beginning in September, we meet as a group to implement our program of educational activities, and to plan for new initiatives for the following year.

We welcome all who would like to learn more and perhaps participate, as well as community members with particular ideas or concerns, to join us in our monthly meetings, on Sundays in the Drexel Parlor, as announced each week in the Parish Bulletin, or forward their thoughts to Nick D’Arecca and Rita O’Brien.
